It seems that just over the last year the quality of Photoshop tutorials have really improved. There have always been a plethora of Photoshop tutorial sites out there, but much of their content was sub par and not very educating.

Today, however, there are plenty of high quality Photoshop tutorials floating around the web. Below you will find a list of some of my favorite picks for 2008.

Many of these are some of the more popular Photoshop tutorials for the past year, but I tried to include some goodies that were a little lesser known as well.

wondering if there’s a good tutorial showing how to create the half silhouetted look from the new ipod commercials, ala coldplay. i have an idea, but would love to have a better tut. the colored background too.

other than that, these are awesome! good job

the watercolor effect from designwall is extremely cool.

Why is Webdesigner Depot now showing images of naked women barely covered? It’s very offensive and hurtful to your female readership. A similar problem came up several times at Smashing Magazine, but I think they have gotten the message: Women’s bodies should not be held out as a sex-tool — they should please be respected!

We carefully screened the images however, we do not believe we’re crossing the line here. We view this as an artistic representation and certainly not intended to be offensive or have any other connotations.

Don’t be so ridiculous! It’s a beautiful piece of art, based on an image of a beautiful woman. There is absolutely nothing offensive or hurtful about these images whatsoever! I don’t know a single woman who would find anything offensive in these awesome images. Get over it.

Respected Mam,
I agree with you in this point but this is the global trend.The world society is like that only where women are used to sell products using there body only.
Infact many women wont find any thing bad in it and they may argue saying that
you are residing in a pre historic age in today’s date.

Dianne, They weren’t put there to be eye candy. They’re there to educate. The authors may have used provocative pictures but so what? You can use what you want. Sex sells anyway. Brilliant list by the way, bookmarked and using.
