of course it matters but the professionals have to educate their clients and make the effort for what its worth. Its even much better for SEO if you wanna play on the following years of positioning and ranking results.

Good article, personally I have a thing against using negative values, particularly for margins and paddings. Admittedly there are times when you need to but I tend to think using negative values is a bit of a hack, except for those few occasions.

Very nice article! In my opinion, every good webdesigner should be able to code his designs on himself. In the past I worked with some designers who couldn’t, it was horrible! It didn’t just take more time, but it was a real fight to explain why something can’t be done the way the designer wanted it to.

Design must be practicle. If a design can’t be coded using standards, it cuts itself down to be “just art”.
