That way, throughout the entire process, I have the ability to optimize every little bit of code, and I know the code better because I made it and not a program. Every time I try to slice, it ends up terrible compared to my hand-coding. I also found that it has taught me what I can do in design and what just won't work practically.

Perhaps it’s just me, but I generally follow the practice of designing in Fireworks from scratch, knowing exactly what I can and can’t do, then start from scratch in Dreamweaver and reach the same result, but as a page, not an image. Perhaps less money/time gets you less bells and whistles, but it shouldn't affect the quality of the product. There's no point selling something that doesn't work properly. I guess it may affect the design process though, when you can't really give it time to simmer

I feel that quality should always be up to a certain standard. This may have a huge effect on website performance. Also worth mentioning the position of css (should be at the top of HTML) and javascript should be in the footer.

Useful tips!

Deciding between server side vs client side scripting is especially important because many developers tend to go with client side (javascript) when they are unsure.<br
