A new web content editing interface
Create is a new, comprehensive web editing interface for use with CMSes. The idea behind it is simple: all the content you're allowed to change becomes editable right on the front end of the site. No more filling out forms to change content, instead you do it right on the page where it resides. Create provides an entirely browser-based HTML5 environment for managing your content and can be adapted to work with virtually any content management system. It's released under the open source MIT license and all code is available on GitHub.

CSS3 Lion?
So we all know there are a ton of awesome things you can do with CSS3 and HTML5. But a functional, online replica of OS X Lion? I don't think many people saw that one coming, yet that's exactly what Alessio Atzeni has done. The demo includes a boot screen, a login screen, and a desktop with menus and moveable windows. Technologies used include CSS3 keyframe animations and :target pseudo-class, HTML5, JavaScript, a jQuery UI plugin for the draggable windows, and images for some static elements. It works in Firefox, Safari, and Chrome. This is only the first iteration, and future versions will include more features, including additional icons.

New Google algorithm affected by ads
Google has announced some new algorithm changes that will likely cause issues for some sites: the amount of above-the-fold advertising a site has, in relation to its content, will potentially negatively affect a site's ranking. While Google hasn't released any specific information on how many ads are too many, the new Page Algorithm Layout Update is reported to likely only affect 1% of searches. TechInfo has some tips on how you can avoid your site being penalized, including not starting articles with ads. They've also pointed out how Google's own search results pages often include significantly more ads than content near the top of the page.
