How a typeface is born
Novel Constructions is a fantastic post from Christoph Dunst for I Love Typography that covers how the Novel type family was created. It's a fascinating look at how a typeface is designed, starting from the initial inspiration (in this case, it was a gradual process, rather than a sudden spark) right through to the finished files.

Retina graphics for your site
Retina.js is an open source script for serving high-res images to devices with Retina displays. It's simple to use, and automatically checks to see if high-res variants of images exist, assuming you use Apple's prescribed high-resolution modifier (@2x). In addition to the JavaScript file, there's also a LESS CSS mixin for background images specified in your stylesheet.

Designer-friendly responsive grid framework
Gumby Framework is a CSS framework that includes design templates and a UI kit to make it a whole lot friendlier to designers than a lot of other responsive grids. It defaults to a 960 pixel footprint, making it much more familiar to designers, too, while also self-optimizing for desktop and mobile resolutions.
