Welcome to the August toolbox. We’ve found goodies for designers, developers, project managers, domain admins, and those of you who wear all of these hats.

Exciting New Tools for Designers, August 2024.

We’ve got plenty of brand new resources, and some old friends who have added new features that could help make the workload that little bit lighter. Enjoy!

Spectrum

Spectrum is a free library of 100 vector shapes to download and edit as needed. Shapes range from simple to complex and more are to be added regularly.

Webacus

This multi-tool for web developers can perform a ton of operations including parsing, encoding and decoding, formatting, and compression. It’s even got a can-i-use lookup built in.

Sidekick

Sidekick is a chromium based browser designed to boost productivity. It integrates your web apps and automatically blocks distracting ads among other features.

UAParser

This is a handy little library that takes a user-agent string and turns it into structured, easy to use information.

KIT Domains

If you are responsible for multiple domains, your own and or your clients’, this domain manager could be the tool for you. It keeps track of domain availability, expirations, and SSL certificates for all your domains across all registrars.

CodenQuest

Learn something new, or brush up on existing code skills with CodenQuest. It offers mock interview challenges too.

Flat

Flat is a simplified project management and collaboration platform that aims to bring your other tools and apps together, rather than replace them.

GOAT Slider

GOAT Slider is a Webflow app for easily making sliders. Fully editable, it includes the ability to add CMS content, and there is a library of premium templates available.

Wasitai

Upload an image to Wasitiai and find out if that image was created by a human or generated by AI. It takes a few seconds to keep yourself safe from any potential copyright or intellectual property issues.

Mind Visuals

Mind Visuals offers easy to edit motion graphics to drag and drop into video content. Launching on 02/08/24.

Fonts Ninja

The Fonts Ninja plugin has been doing sterling work identifying fonts in the wild for nearly a decade now. This latest resource from the same people is a showcase of fonts, with links to buy direct from foundries. You can browse for inspiration, bookmark your favorites, and submit your own fonts.

Todoist

Another old favorite, Todoist, has added some great new features in recent weeks. Most notable are the week layout (available on paid plans only), calendar integration, and custom templates.

Better Terminal

At some point, even the most code-averse designer may need to go command line. It can be a little daunting, with meaningless prompts and no visual context. Better Terminal allows you to configure your Mac Terminal to add information to prompts, create shortcuts, and customize its appearance.

PageUI

PageUI is a set of landing page components and templates that can be copied and pasted into a React.js app. The available elements and features have been designed to produce high-converting landing pages.

GlobalSEO

In a nutshell, GlobalSEO translates your site and optimizes it in 93 languages using AI (GPT-4) translation and Key-Value Cloudflare caching.
