“Coming soon” pages are a great way for websites to engage and connect with visitors, even before the actual site is published.

A well designed “coming soon” page is a great teaser to grab the attention of potential visitors and make them look forward to the website’s launch.

These pages usually include a short sign up form or social media links to notify visitors of updates and the release date.

From minimalist approaches, to elaborate illustrations, there are virtually unlimited ways to create an eye catching design for these website teasers.

In this post, you’ll find a great collection of “coming soon” pages that you can use for inspiration when designing your own.

These are alot of great coming soon pages. Thanks for sharing.

    • Rob

Wow, that is an ace list. Some really nice designs there. The best thing: some new ones. It’s about time. It’s annoying when you always see the same designs.

Ps. May I plug our own (somwhat large) coming soon page. It’s actually helpful too. http://www.font-face.com a new font service for @font-face for free.

    • http://www.greenandchic.com Carla | Green and Chic

I love all of those pages, especially Accentuate. Very creative!

    • http://www.alterview.nl Gert Wierbos | Alterview

Nice post, gives a lot of inspiration :) I’m also guilty of having a “coming soon” webpage… It’s located at http://www.alterview.nl, please have a look ;)

    • http://www.booshcreations.co.uk/ BooshCreations

This is a big list, we have a coming soon page also. It will only be like that until Monday though as that is when it will go live: http://www.booshcreations.co.uk/

Thanks for putting the list together, some great ideas there

    • http://www.vunkyblog.net Vunky

      Nice list.

Lot of work collecting those, I suppose. How do you google it? “unfinished websites” ;)

I tend to always forget the under construction page, although it might be better habit to include them.

    • http://www.eggman.be eggman

      absolutely fabulous!

      @rob: great idea

    • Claudiu

http://mudjo.com is another one that I think that it should be there.

    • http://www.tisme.com.au Mathew Carpenter

    • UC

      Very cool! Thanks for sharing.

    • http://www.saismo.at Patrik

    • http://twitter.com/recepkutuk Recep Kütük

I believe http://www.pyronome.com deserves to be in this list too :)

    • http://www.krishnasolanki.co.uk/ Krishna

Wow! Some of these are really cool. Very inspiring, and definitely a good way of showcasing some design skills whilst still working on the site!

Something to consider for the next project i think…

      Well done!

    • http://www.mushroomdigital.co.uk web design staffordshire

Some really nice coming soon pages. Im setting up a domain name tool website and think the idea of getting subscribers before I launch is an excellent idea. Brilliant!

    • http://www.dzinepress.com Dzinepress

i really like your concept based article, really beautiful.

    • John
    • jeff

very cool list (with only 2 exceptions but I’ll let you off those) – but it still doesn’t disguise the fact that either you got your act together and actually done the work and actually published your website or you haven’t. period. making pretty excuses just doesn’t wash. When all is said and done there’s a whole lot more said than done.

    • http://www.emdesigns.de Michael

      Nice article, good inspiration.

The Design/Colors of GroupFire remind me of Ubuntu.

    • http://www.ownidentity.nl/ Jonathan

      Great showcase!

    • http://dominikhahn.com Dominik Hahn

Why would you put on a ‘coming soon’ page when you redesign a site? If it was shitty for the last 2 years, why don’t just leave it online till the redesign is fully done and then do the transition.
Upload the files at night and impress your visitors the next morning. :-)

    • http://www.clear-river.com Keith

Wow these are great! I love the creativity that goes into these. People need a reason not to feel frustrated when they come to one of these pages and making them interesting helps a lot. If no one minds I’ll shamelessly add a page that I just completed: http://www.sjec-midland.org/

    • http://www.designerkan.com Designerkan

Really perfect.. Thanks a lot for sharing

    • http://www.geopull.com/ Dennis Stokholm

Great list, a lot of them goes straight in my inspiration folder :)

I would like to add http://www.geopull.com/ to the list, a geolocation web app currently in development; with a nice little “coming soon” teaser page.

    • http://kver.ca Ken

While these pages are all well designed, one thing worth mentioning is that some of them seem to be websites getting updated or redesigned. The ones transitioning from one design to the next should really have avoided putting up a coming soon page and simply lived with the old design while the new one is built. Any day I would settle for having one less-than-beautiful website than a drop-dead gorgeous page telling people to wait.

But the ones getting started and built are all fantastic.

well a great and long list indeed, thanks for sharing… I have one example that might be worth checking out http://www.movingtargetgames.com

    • http://www.designtank.ws ChrisR

Why don’t folks just leave up their current site until they are ready to launch the redesigned one? If someone wants to see your work today, they don’t really care that you are busy with other stuff and can’t show your work now.

      Am I missing something?

    • http://www.google.co.uk Shahid

      Nice list!

      Here’s another nice n simple one.. http://www.digitalent.com

    • davinder376

Have a new web app coming out, and just so happen to have a coming soon page. Not the most creative, and many of the ones above put it to shame, but it’s clean and to the point, http://www.debateaday.com

    • http://twitter.com/carlosinho Karol K.

Great list. Where do you start to come up with such a list? ;)

    • http://www.designlint.com Zach

There is some really great inspiration here. The point of a coming soon page is not to place hold…but rather to build excitement. These achieve that for sure!

    • http://www.visualswirl.com/ Chris Thurman

I sometimes think it’s pointless to spend too much time designing these but if done right, it can really be an effective way to build hype for an upcoming site. Great roundup!

Always think about having about 3-4 templates for Coming Soon pages ready with PSD’s so you can change the color and font type easily. After you get one done you can have new ones done within an hour.

      http://www.deadcelebjokes.com

there might be a bit to much on it but im happy with it so far and cant weight to get the whole site live. some good ideas on the examples you have listed.

    • http://www.glyph.co.za Chris

An interesting collection, although I think that some of the launching soon pages could have been more conceptually-driven – a good design is just not enough to make you stand out. I think that the “After Some Words” launching soon page was the best of the lot.

    • http://www.christianflorin.com Christian

I love these examples. There is some really great work in here! Awesome post!

    • Chris G

Wow these are all lovely examples in this showcase! You sure have great taste in terms of looks.

I’ve been looking around the web for more great coming soon pages for personal inspiration and I think I’ve found a pretty cool one from a site named “Desoulbel”(.com). Since they have something to do with music I’m guessing it’s a play on words of decibel, pretty catchy.

Also I agree with Singing Tips on the “Notify Me” option seems like a wonderful idea.

    • http://creation-1.com Justin

This is a great selection. Simple and easy to use without too much jumbled text everywhere. Too many words on a web site is my pet peeve.

    • Premanshu
