Wow, that is an ace list. Some really nice designs there. The best thing: some new ones. It’s about time. It’s annoying when you always see the same designs.

very cool list (with only 2 exceptions but I’ll let you off those) – but it still doesn’t disguise the fact that either you got your act together and actually done the work and actually published your website or you haven’t. period. making pretty excuses just doesn’t wash. When all is said and done there’s a whole lot more said than done.

Why would you put on a ‘coming soon’ page when you redesign a site? If it was shitty for the last 2 years, why don’t just leave it online till the redesign is fully done and then do the transition.
Upload the files at night and impress your visitors the next morning.

Wow these are great! I love the creativity that goes into these. People need a reason not to feel frustrated when they come to one of these pages and making them interesting helps a lot. If no one minds I’ll shamelessly add a page that I just completed: http://www.sjec-midland.org/

I would like to add http://www.geopull.com/ to the list, a geolocation web app currently in development; with a nice little “coming soon” teaser page.

While these pages are all well designed, one thing worth mentioning is that some of them seem to be websites getting updated or redesigned. The ones transitioning from one design to the next should really have avoided putting up a coming soon page and simply lived with the old design while the new one is built. Any day I would settle for having one less-than-beautiful website than a drop-dead gorgeous page telling people to wait.

But the ones getting started and built are all fantastic.

Why don’t folks just leave up their current site until they are ready to launch the redesigned one? If someone wants to see your work today, they don’t really care that you are busy with other stuff and can’t show your work now.

There is some really great inspiration here. The point of a coming soon page is not to place hold…but rather to build excitement. These achieve that for sure!

So cool. No more people think who this page is not important. But I think is useful for create the right expectations for users. Putting a bit of curiosity.

I sometimes think it’s pointless to spend too much time designing these but if done right, it can really be an effective way to build hype for an upcoming site. Great roundup!

Great collection! Give us inspiration to make something nice for a client that wants something quickly slapped up before the development of their site is done.

Always think about having about 3-4 templates for Coming Soon pages ready with PSD’s so you can change the color and font type easily. After you get one done you can have new ones done within an hour.

An interesting collection, although I think that some of the launching soon pages could have been more conceptually-driven – a good design is just not enough to make you stand out. I think that the “After Some Words” launching soon page was the best of the lot.

Wow these are all lovely examples in this showcase! You sure have great taste in terms of looks.

I’ve been looking around the web for more great coming soon pages for personal inspiration and I think I’ve found a pretty cool one from a site named “Desoulbel”(.com). Since they have something to do with music I’m guessing it’s a play on words of decibel, pretty catchy.

Also I agree with Singing Tips on the “Notify Me” option seems like a wonderful idea.

This is a great selection. Simple and easy to use without too much jumbled text everywhere. Too many words on a web site is my pet peeve.

http://www.kolhapurworld.com/ has put up a nice and creative coming soon page. The egg looks realistic and the punch line will be out any moment suits it well…..
