ScreenshotAfter reviewing your feedback on last week’s photomontage design challenge and knowing that you truly enjoyed the experience, I think it’s time for another great design challenge…

Do you recognize the picture on the left? That’s Sharbat Gula, an Afghan woman whose photo became the world’s most famous portrait after appearing on the cover of National Geographic magazine in 1985.

In this week’s challenge, we’re concentrating on self portraits, having just covered this in today’s article: How to Take Excellent Portrait Photos

Will you possibly be the face of the next world famous portrait? You certainly have the power to do it! Are you ready for the challenge? Go grab your camera and get ready for some serious fun!

    Objective:

Create a unique self portrait. You can use any style or technique that you wish as long as you’re featured in the photo in some shape or form. Photos can be edited and manipulated in any way you want.

    Example:

For examples and techniques, please refer to our article: How to Take Excellent Portrait Photos

    Requirements:

    • Image must be a maximum of 615px x 615px at 72dpi in JPEG format (up to 150kb).
    • The photo must be a self portrait and include a photo of yourself in some shape or form
    • You may edit your photo in any way using photo editing software, such as Photoshop
    • Email your image and the information below before Tuesday, April 28th

Could be a pretty interesting contest!

You actually should add something that MUST be included in the picture; Otherwise people will submit “older” self portraits, just to get featured here ;) .

    Keep up the good work!

I’m hoping I’ll get new submissions, but it’s impossible for me to assess whether these are new or old, however, I hope they are.

As you can see from my avatar, I don’t have any recent photos. Actually, that’s the last decent picture I have and it’s been all downhill since then. It;s a good thing I love a challenge… LOL!

    Regards, Chris

The meta-data should be included in the file, and show that the pic was taken during between friday and monday evening.

    ^^

To avoid people putting old portraits.
I had many old nice and fun, and cool portraits … but took a new one, won’t be my best, but wanted to stick to the rules

    : )

    I got mine submitted!

I didn’t add any flames or wings to the image. I hope I don’t get penalized for that. LOL!

    Regards, Chris

    Hahaha Chris !
I took the picture and only processed it a bit in lightroom, no photo montage for me neither
    : )

It won’t be the most original, but I wanted to participate
    : )
