Great examples. I have browsed MANY fashion websites for inspiration as well as shopping. I’ve noticed a lot of high fashion houses have terribly designed sites. It may look pretty but if it’s hard to navigate and takes forever to load, no one’s going to bother. Norstrom’s is one of the best. Good work!

The ones listed here are also too good indeed.

nyandcompany sucks: the screenshot is cool, but the website.. by now in firefox I have the logo under the searchbox, it’s everything in the upper left corner (I have a big screen) and the whole website is nothing special.. also bluefly seems to be nothing exceptional.. you missed bally and moschino imho

Thank you. I’m just about to design a photographer portfolio website and like these, the emphasis is on the photography, not the site graphics, so these sites are a great starting point for me…Thank you.

    My favourites are:
    White + Warren
    Bridge55
    Ralph Lauren Rugby
    Urban Originals

    Rahul,
I wouldn’t consider Target a fashion website. They do sell clothes, but that’s only one small part of the department store.

Oh my how my girlfriend would love these!

Designing a clothes shopping experience is such a difficult task to do well. A lot of user experience design and research would be needed to find exactly what it is that consumers want from their experience. Being able to produce an excellent representation of the clothes on the web is the biggest hurdle.

For ages clothes shops online were so inferior to the high street stores but this last few years has really changed things, there are some brillinat online stores selling a lot of clothes!

The majority of fashion / ecommerce sites all stick to the same rulesets and become generic and old hat, and thus are far from been inspirational. Yes the design is nice and pretty but strip it back and its the same of everything else out there.

I like to see when fashion sites do something daring, original and innovative. These kind of of sites are rare but lead for a greater user experience, allowing the user to immerse themselves with the brand more if done correctly.

Two websites to note which I’ve been impressed with recently are
    - Whistles http://www.whistles.co.uk/
    - Temperley London http://www.temperleylondon.com/

I’m not saying these two sites are perfect, probably far from it, but they are definitely breaking the mould some what.
