What do you think of these fashion website designs? Which ones were the most inspiring for you?

    • Kirsti

Great examples. I have browsed MANY fashion websites for inspiration as well as shopping. I’ve noticed a lot of high fashion houses have terribly designed sites. It may look pretty but if it’s hard to navigate and takes forever to load, no one’s going to bother. Norstrom’s is one of the best. Good work!

    • http://tr.im/mewC Rahul – Web Guru

Well, i think that Target.com quite a good site and that you’ve missed out in your list here.

The ones listed here are also too good indeed.

    • http://www.orphicpixel.com Mars

Great example of fashion website, sometimes when I cant find the right idea on a new project, I also browse these kind of website to have a good idea.

    • http://circleboxcreative.com/ Callum Chapman

Love the Acne site, use to be a fan of Asos’ old design, don’t think the new one is as good though!

nyandcompany sucks: the screenshot is cool, but the website.. by now in firefox I have the logo under the searchbox, it’s everything in the upper left corner (I have a big screen) and the whole website is nothing special.. also bluefly seems to be nothing exceptional.. you missed bally and moschino imho

    • http://pressrelease.fyu2.com Paul

      Awesome!

    • http://aestheticgardens.com website

I think you can wear pretty much whatever you want… as long as you look good in it.

    • http://www.creativeindividual.co.uk Laura

Thank you. I’m just about to design a photographer portfolio website and like these, the emphasis is on the photography, not the site graphics, so these sites are a great starting point for me…Thank you.

      My favourites are:
      White + Warren
      Bridge55
      Ralph Lauren Rugby
      Urban Originals
Closed – Nice idea with the neon sign!

      Rahul,
I wouldn’t consider Target a fashion website. They do sell clothes, but that’s only one small part of the department store.

    • http://dsgn.pw-software.com Paul Anthony Webb

This is a great list, I’ve been looking for inspiration for my own clothing site.

Oh my how my girlfriend would love these!

Designing a clothes shopping experience is such a difficult task to do well. A lot of user experience design and research would be needed to find exactly what it is that consumers want from their experience. Being able to produce an excellent representation of the clothes on the web is the biggest hurdle.

For ages clothes shops online were so inferior to the high street stores but this last few years has really changed things, there are some brillinat online stores selling a lot of clothes!

    • http://www.edgarleijs.nl Edgar Leijs

    • lazy-dazy

      try this!
      reserved.com
      good job!

    • Drew

The majority of fashion / ecommerce sites all stick to the same rulesets and become generic and old hat, and thus are far from been inspirational. Yes the design is nice and pretty but strip it back and its the same of everything else out there.

I like to see when fashion sites do something daring, original and innovative. These kind of of sites are rare but lead for a greater user experience, allowing the user to immerse themselves with the brand more if done correctly.

Two websites to note which I’ve been impressed with recently are
      - Whistles http://www.whistles.co.uk/
      - Temperley London http://www.temperleylondon.com/

I’m not saying these two sites are perfect, probably far from it, but they are definitely breaking the mould some what.

    • http://www.ultimatesuits.com carmelo plum

      nice and good idea

    • http://www.theonlinearts.com/art-paint.html coco

      Nice collection of different styles.
I like the this list. Thanks for sharing.

I love these web sites. I’m looking for web designers that have exactly this look. We have several openings in the Dallas area that are right along these lines. Please contact me if you’re interested in learning more: k.duncan@thebossgroup.com.

    • http://wowo886717.vox.com gogo888

I like your collection about fashion and it’s statement thru time.http://roseaaa.multiply.com

    • http://lovepastry.com Maurice Harary

who knows a great fashion web design company? My budget is under 10 K.

    • http://cebucebucebu.blogspot.com Elsie Dabney

      love it..love it!
      very helpful list

    • http://www.newviewit.com Website Design

Miss Selfridge and Asos designs really caught my eye… going to spend a few minutes digging into the secondary pages and see how the sales process unfolds in their designs. So far looks promising

    • http://www.darrenbooy.eu Darren

      checkout fareastfashion.nl

      should be added. Fantastic design.

    • http://www.smoothboothdesign.com/ Josh

Good list, I’ve shopped with a few of these before, good navigation and aesthetics.

    • Jake Welsh

      Fantastic set of designs there!

Yet again, i think usability and the development behind them makes sites stand out from others!

Some web design companies simply incorporate off the shelf packages such as Magento etc.

Where as bespoke e-commerce sites stand out like a sore thumb!

      Check out http://www.vicky-martin.com

      Fantastic design and build!

      Jake

    • http://www.kmishncorp.com jesse

wicked sites here love them all.

    • http://www.i7clothing.com hollister

      check out the web

    • http://fashionsoftware.com.au Peter Pac

Once a user gets over the branding and a shopping cart is attached they tend to go straight to the cart to see whats new, on sale etc. I see a lot of companies separating there branding and shopping experience. This should be one and the same.

    • http://Www.piazzasempione.com Marina

Can I suggest you add http://www.piazzasempione.com to your list? I am a bit biased as I was part of the team that created it at Mikan web agency Insana but it is innovative. I particularly love the photowall on the homepage, where pics increase in size depending on popularity amongst users.

    • Crystal

What about Chanel and Valentino’s site?

    • Samantha

Can I suggest Bontoni.com for your list? The company is a luxury italian shoe company. Some of the most elegant black and white images.

Hermes, is also a fantastic website.

    • todd

just curious as to what people think of the shoe guru website specifically..

    • http://www.webchemie.nl Arnhem

Great list! Fashionsites is BIG pictures.
